Line crews were out through the night working to restore power. The heavy snow, high winds and poor road conditions proved to be a challenge.

The largest outage of the night occurred for about 1,800 consumers served off the Robson Road substation in Eaton Township. Most of those outages occurred east of Midview Schools and affected residents in Grafton, Eaton and Liverpool townships.

The cooperative lost transmission service from FirstEnergy, which took out the cooperative’s Nova substation in Rochester Township. This affected nearly 1,000 consumers. The cooperative was able to remotely reroute power from adjacent substations to restore power for those in the Rochester and Nova areas.

Lines were also out in the area along Slife Road and Rte. 301 in Carlisle Township and Biggs Road and Whitehead Road in LaGrange Township.

A sagging wire due to the heavy snow affected a circuit from the cooperative’s Spencer substation. The line was secured for the night so the lines to prevent the lines from slapping into each other causing power blinks.

Crews handled small scattered outages throughout the night. Driving conditions were terrible making it difficult to get to outages and locate the problems. Crews reported several cars off the road. One car went off the road in Sullivan Township and hit a fence pole at our Sullivan substation. Fortunately, there was no damage.

Crew are working small, single outages this morning and it’s expected all power will be restored Friday morning.
