Clare-Mar Lakes Campground in Huntington Township will once again present the Wellington Balloon Fest on Aug. 22. Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative again will serve as one of the event’s sponsors. 

The hot air balloons are scheduled to launch at 6:30 p.m., weather permitting. 

The photogenic balloon glow is scheduled for sunset at about 8:45 p.m. 

Gates open at 3 p.m. Admission is $5 for ages 12 and older, $3 for children 4-11, and free for children under 3. All proceeds benefit the Lorain County Office on Aging’s Southern Satellite Office, which serves southern Lorain County townships in LMRE’s service area.

From 3 to 9 p.m. there will be live music, a cornhole tournament, bingo, a dunk tank, a bungee run, and a bounce house.

A blood drive will be conducted from 5 to 9 p.m. by Lifeshare Community Blood Services. 

Clare-Mar Lakes Campground is celebrating its 50th year in business in 2015. The campground has been operated by Ron and Brenda Sears for 45 years. 

Clare-Mar is located at 47571 New London Eastern Road, about one-half mile west of Route 58 in Huntington Township.
