Outlet Shopping: A big draw for Burbank

Ohio Station Outlets near Burbank is a premiere shopping destination for northeast Ohio. Built in 1996 as the Buckeye Factory Shops, Ohio Station Outlets has been rebranded to attract a more diverse set of stores and to provide a pleasant experience for the customers.
“We work hard to provide a unique, fun, and exciting experience for our shoppers,” said General Manager Trinity D’Andrea Elmiger. “We want to offer more than shopping. We want to offer a family experience, a time to make memories. This makes it fun, unique, and rewarding for us to work here as well.”

Cooperative celebrates Lineman Appreciation Day

Every day, linemen enter extreme danger to protect lives and bring us all the conveniences of modern living. They rise 40 feet above the ground with harnesses and safety gear, dancing between snakelike wires that, if improperly handled, can easily erase their lives in a massive jolt of electricity.
Lineman Appreciation Day celebrates those dedicated people who work in challenging conditions to keep the lights on. America’s electric cooperatives designated the second Monday of April as National Lineman Appreciation Day.

Telemarketers calling co-op member offering discounted rates break the rules

January 2017

There has been an uptick of phone calls from cooperative members reporting they have received phone calls from telemarketers asking about their electric bills. This is a violation of Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) rules regulating competitive retail electric service providers.

Some cooperative members report repeated calls. Others have been told they can choose their wholesale supplier.

These callers are offering short-term discounted rates and guaranteed savings if they switch wholesale electric providers.

Lifelike ‘reborns’ deliver joy to many

Rachel Smith’s little girl wanted a baby for Christmas. She found one of those lifelike dolls on-line. It looked very real in the picture, but when the much-anticipated bundle arrived, it did not look like the picture. So in February this year, Smith bought a kit and tried making one on her own.
“But that’s how I got into it,” Smith said. “I wanted to try, and my husband was very supportive. He told me to get one of the kits and try it. I think I’ve made 30 since that first one.”
