Hear what LMRE’s 2011 Youth Tour representative Ben Klier of Wellington had to say about his trip of a lifetime.
Q: What was the highlight of your trip to Washington, D.C. and why?
A: It is hard to pick just one, but it would probably be the whole day Wednesday. The day included stops at the Zoo, Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, Arlington National Cemetery and an evening farewell party at the hotel with all of the people from across the country who were on the trip.
Q: What were a few of your favorite stops on the trip?
A: Visiting Gettysburg was a very sobering tour. The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum has always been one of my favorites. Washington’s Mt. Vernon was a beautiful and insightful look into the home of are first president.
Q: Why would you recommend the Youth Tour trip to other students?
A: I would recommend this trip to other students because it was a great opportunity to learn about the history and government of our country. I also met many people not only from all over Ohio, but also from across the country.
