Sullivan’s Brenda Wolfe named to LMRE board
Brenda Wolfe of Sullivan Township was appointed to the Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative Board of Trustees at its June meeting.
She replaces Nova’s Paul Bowman, who resigned in February citing health concerns.
Wolfe, 48, will serve the remaining two years of Bowman’s term. She represents District 7, which includes Clear Creek, Jackson, Orange, Sullivan and Troy townships in Ashland County.
Wolfe is the firm services manager for Wickens, Herzer, Panza, Cook & Batista Co., an Avon-based law firm, where she’s worked for 15 years.
A 1985 Firelands High School graduate, she and her husband, James, have a daughter, Maya, 19.
“I was looking for something to become more involved in the community. When I read the letter announcing the opening on the board, I was impressed with the level of education the cooperative provides to the trustees. I thought I’d like to learn more about the cooperative, so I applied.”
Four members of District 7 sent letters of interest and resumes to the cooperative. A trustee search committee, composed of Vice President Gary Rowland of Brighton Township and Treasurer Keith Lowe of Homer Township, along with two members of the district, interviewed all candidates and gave a report to the entire board before the appointment was made.
